Canada to extend Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel!

The Immigration Minister of Canada, Sean Fraser, has declared that the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) will be prolonged for Ukrainian citizens who are outside of Canada until July 15, 2023.

After July 15, 2023, Ukrainians wishing to come to Canada from abroad can still apply for a visa or a work or study permit through our existing temporary resident programs, but they will be subject to fees and standard requirements.

Existing CUAET holders will now have until March 31, 2024, to travel to Canada, and those who are already in Canada will also have until the same date to renew or modify their temporary status without incurring any fees.

Even after the extension of CUAET, Ukrainians and their family members will continue to receive settlement services in Canada, which includes one-time tax-free financial assistance and access to emergency housing for up to two weeks upon their arrival in the country.
