VISIT CANADA
Canada is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
But it's not just the scenery that makes a country great—it's the people who live there.
Canada is known for being a welcoming place to visit, but it's also home to some of the friendliest people in the world. If you're looking for an opportunity to get out and explore nature, Canada offers some of the best hiking trails anywhere on earth. Or if you're more interested in visiting museums or galleries, there are plenty of options for that as well!

The Canadian government has made it fairly easy for visitors from other countries to come and see what Canada has to offer, too: you can apply for a visitor visa or eTA. Once approved by Canada's immigration department, this visa will allow you to enter the country for up to six months. You can also extend your stay.
TRV Visas Canada
(Business, Travel, Visitor, Worker)
Visitors to Canada are considered "temporary residents" and must meet certain requirements in order to enter the country. If you are planning to visit Canada for tourism, business or medical reasons, you must obtain a visitor visa. A visitor visa is a document that allows the holder to enter Canada for a specific period of time. The document must be issued by a Canadian visa office and can only be issued if the applicant is admissible to Canada.

If you do not have a valid Canadian passport, but were born in Canada, then you may be eligible for a Canadian passport renewal by mail. This option is only available if you were born in Canada and have at least one parent who was also born there.

The requirements for applying for a visitor visa depending on what type of application method you choose: online or paper application form. You must provide all required documentation when submitting your application form, including proof of identity such as birth certificates or passports; proof of citizenship such as naturalization certificates; photos of yourself; proof that you intend to return home after your trip; proof of financial means (bank statements); and proof that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay in Canada (bank statements).

Electronic Travel Authorization
(ETA)
If you're from a visa-exempt country, you won't require a TRV or an eTA to enter Canada.

Is a TRV or an eTA required to enter Canada?
Whether you are a citizen of a nation for which a visa is necessary to enter Canada determines the answer to this question. If you have been granted a visa, you will not need to apply for an eTA or a TRV because you can enter the country using your passport as identification. You must apply for a visa ahead of time if your country does not already require one for travel to Canada.

Before making any travel arrangements, it is advised that you check the Canadian government's website at www.canada.ca to see if your country needs a visa.
To board a flight to Canada, the following passengers require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). However, if they are entering by land or water, such as by driving from the United States or arriving by bus, train, or boat, including a cruise ship, they do not need an eTA.

Extend and Restore your stay in Canada
(Canada Visa Restoration and Extention Services)
How to Extend a Canadian Visitor Visa
Extension of a Canadian Visitor visa is for those who are present in Canada and want to prolong the stay beyond visa’s expiration date. If the extension application is approved, a visitor record is received.
NB: A visitor record is not a visa.
A visitor record:
-
is a document states the new length of your stay in Canada
-
includes an expiry date by which you must leave Canada
When to apply for a visitor record
The application to extend the stay should be done well before your current status expires. Extension of stay as a visitor or change status (from an international student or worker to a visitor, for example) entails application at least 30 days before the current status expiration.
The expiry date for your status is mentioned on
-
the stamp in your passport (this is NOT the date included on your visitor visa)
-
In case of no stamp in your passport, the expiry date is six months from the day of entry into Canada
-
your study permit
-
your work permit or
-
your visitor record (if you’ve already extended your stay)
Who can apply for a visitor record?
Those who want to
-
stay in Canada as a visitor beyond their visitor visa expiry, or
-
change their visa type from
-
a study permit to a visitor record
-
a work permit to a visitor record

For a Restoration of Status, the application must be done within 90 days of your visitor visa expiration date.

Supervisa Canada
(Visa for parents and grandparents)
The Super Visa can be the best choice for you if you want to visit your child or grandchild in Canada and you are the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. With the Super Visa, grandparents and parents can stay with their grandchildren for up to 7 years without having to leave and enter Canada again every six months.

The Super Visa has been a great benefit to Canadians who want to stay in touch with their loved ones. When IRCC announced in June 2022 (effective July 4, 2022) that the length of stay for Super Visa holders would be increased to five years per entry into Canada, we were thrilled.

Present Super Visa holders may now request an extension of their stay in Canada of up to two years. As a result, those who now have Super Visas can stay in Canada for up to seven years in a row.
IRCC is also working on designating international medical insurance companies for Super Visa applicants in the future.
This article will let you know if you are eligible for the Super Visa and how to apply for it.
